Roseville Aztec

Aztec is an early period pattern introduced by Roseville Pottery around 1905. Standard colors include blue, gray and tan. The pattern style is Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau. The shapes for the Roseville Aztec pattern included primarily vases and pitchers. Aztec was usually unmarked. Some examples have been found with the Rozane wafer mark. The Aztec pattern is scarce and sought after by pottery collectors. Minor damage and repair is sometimes overlooked due to the rarity of the pattern.

Roseville Pottery Decorated Landscape Umbrella Stand Rare and exceptional Roseville Pottery Decorated Matt Landscape umbrella stand decorated with a peacock and trees in a squeeze bag design.  EXCELLENT CONDITION.  There is a tight 3" hairline at the rim and 4 small base edge chips (shown in photo).  Minor flaws and no other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.  Artist signed HR for Harry Rhead.  Umbrella stand is 20 1/4" tall and 10" wide.  RARE, investment quality piece.  Decorated Matt was introduced by Frederick Hurten Rhead in 1907.
