Beatrice Wood Pottery Ribbed & Folded Bowl

Rare and striking Beatrice Wood Pottery celadon glazed ribbed and folded art deco bowl.  Super shape and color.  NEAR MINT CONDITION.  There may be a minute tip of a crayon sized professional restoration to a tiny spot on the rim.  No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.  Bottom marked with BEATO.  Bowl is 2 3/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide.  In the late 1930s, Beatrice Wood studied ceramics with Glen Lukens. After studying under Lukens, Beatrice Wood then became a student of Gertrud and Otto Natzler. The Natzlers took her on as a student, sharing their techniques and glaze secrets.
Gertrud Natzler taught Beatrice to throw on the wheel and Otto Natzler attempted to teach her the chemistry behind the glazing.  While some of Beatrice's work is similar in glazes and forms to the Natzlers her work ultimately proved considerably different.

Mid 20th century modern Beatrice Wood Pottery chalice in a superior and striking volcanic flowing glaze.  EXCELLENT CONDITION. There is a small nick to the inner rim as seen in photo.  No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.  Bottom marked with BEATO.  Chalice is 3 1/2" tall and 4 1/4" in diameter.  In the late 1930s, Beatrice Wood studied ceramics with Glen Lukens.
