The inspiration for this distinctive timepiece comes from the World land speed records set during the 1920's and 30's. During this time the British dominated the field breaking the records for land speed time and time again. The most famous to do so was Malcolm Campbell in his series of vehicles named Bluebird. Finished in amber sunrise and racing green glaze. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Back of clock stamped with Echo of Deco logo, signed Malcolm Akerman. The inspiration for this stylish Wall clock comes from the Italian pioneer of radio, Guglielmo Marconi. Marconi's work in the development of wireless radio was quite literally a quantum leap in the field of human communication, contributing greatly to the advancement of the modern world. The design of the Marconi 1 shows the first experimental radio waves being transmitted across the Atlantic in 1901. The three angled lines in the middle of the clock symbolise radio signals radiating outwards from the 'V' shape transmitter into space. MINT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.
