Aldo Londi Bitossi 1960s Italian Pottery Hand Made Rimini Blue Head Face Vase
Great, hand-tooled head shaped vase by Italian artist Aldo Londi in a bright Rimini blue.
Excellent condition. Tiny and harmless tip of a pencil sized fleck to the base edge. No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.
Bottom marked with 95/644 and artist cipher.
Vase is 6" tall and 4 1/2" wide.

The Bitossi family has been in ceramics since the 1870s but the modern pottery began 1921, when Guido Bitossi created Manifattura Cavaliere Bitossi e Figlia in Montelupo Fiorentino, near Florence. Bitossi’s ceramic creations took on Aldo Londi’s delightfully humorous, creative, and modern style once he was elevated to artistic director in 1946. His works were a brilliant blend of usefulness and beauty.
