One is MINT CONDITION with no chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. The other has a chip to one corner as shown. Marked with logo near the base. Bookends are 4 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide.
Cowan Pottery Dark Matte Green Monk Bookends
Rare and exceptional Cowan Pottery dark matte green bookends with a Monk reading a book. Superior color and glaze. FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. The base of one has a totally non showing factory separation line mentioned for accuracy sake. Bookends are 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/4" wide. A single example of this bookend sold for $2,495 in 2015.

Rare and very nice pair of Cowan Pottery dove bookends in a nice mottled crystalline orange glaze. EXCELLENT CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind to the one. The other has a colored in chip to the back side. Backs faintly marked with logo on the back corner. Bookends are 5" tall and 4 1/4" wide. Bookends were designed by Elmer Novotny.
Rare, hand-built, bisque-fired Marblehead Pottery sailing ship bookends. The bookend on the right has a chip to one back top corner on the and a small nick to the other corner at the top. The bookend on the left has a small and shallow nick to the backside base. No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Backs marked with logo. Bookends are 5 3/4" tall and 6" wide.
