Arequipa Pottery 1912 Mottled Black With Yellow Drip Bulbous Vase
Rare, early 1912 Arequipa Pottery arts and crafts vase covered in a great mottled black glaze with a matte yellow underglaze. EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Some factory pops and pin holes and a non showing factory stilt pull to the base ring. Bottom marked correctly as seen in photo with logo, Arequipa California, dated 1912 and artist signed. Vase is 2 3/4" tall and 4 3/4" wide. Arequipa Pottery was produced in Fairfax, California between 1911 and 1918. Most of the pottery produced by Arequipa was finished and decorated by female tuberculosis patients.
