Early Velmoss was one of Roseville Pottery’s cherished early‑period patterns, first introduced in 1916. Known for its mottled green, tan, and brown glazes, this Arts & Crafts–inspired line evolved from the earlier Carnelian series.

According to a 1916 Roseville price list, the line consisted of 31 distinct shape numbers. While pieces were unmarked, some collectors have noted hand‑written shape and size numbers on the bases
