The Arts and Clay Company

The Arts and Clay company is a small studio run by a single man, Art Accardi. Accardi's work bears influence from the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 1900s in America.

Accardi's studio produces modern work that is often indistinguishable from historical art pottery of that era. Accardi connects deeply with the movement since the ideals behind its beginning are perhaps being reproduced today.

The Arts and Crafts movement of the 20th century spawned from the belief that art must necessarily come from the hands of skilled artists, rather than the mass production lines of companies. Art, true to his name, handcrafts each and every piece he develops and spends time creating incredible designs and forms. He works with tiles, vases, lamp bases, and more. Accardi started his studio with the intention of producing affordable art pottery that was still handcrafted in the styles and using the methods of the past, and he continues this mission to this day.
