Mary Virginia Keenan (1881-1883)
Mary Virginia Keenan was born in Charleston, Virginia in 1931. She gave lessons in watercolor and pottery painting to the Women's Art Museum Association during the late 1870's. She exhibited with the Cincinnati Women's Pottery Club, of which she became an honorary member in 1880.
Her specialty was plant and flower studies, and her work can be occasionally found on Rookwood pieces between 1881 and 1883. Collector interest in her pieces is considered to be below average. She continued to produce many watercolors until her death in 1908.
