I am very pleased with this Florida Faience vase and stand, which is marked on the bottom by the potter indicating that this was his best piece ever! The vase and stand are beautifully made and decorated, and they remind me of pottery made by Amalric Walter.

This vase is a great example of the Rookwood early simplistic decorative vases. The color was the primary embellishment, with the incisions as secondary.
