About Chicago Crucible Pottery
Chicago Crucible Pottery began producing an art pottery line around 1917 shortly after the firm was acquired by Northwestern Terra Cotta. In addition to Chicago Crucible, Northwestern Terra Cotta also produced Norweta Pottery.
Examples of Chicago Crucible pottery are typically marked with a stamped Chicago Crucible mark. Items made after 1919 have the new name of the Chicago Ceramic Company. Unmarked examples have also been found.
