Alfred Laurens Brennan (1881-1885)

Alfred Laurens Brennan was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 14, 1853. He was one of the earliest of the Rookwood Pottery decorators, and he created Limoges and Standard Glaze pieces from 1881 until 1885.

He is credited with creating the reverse "RP" monogram used by Rookwood as their trademark, using it as early as 1883. He died in Brooklyn, New York on June 14, 1921. Collector interest in his pieces is considered to be below average.
